Delicious ice cream, quiet ambience, and board games littering the tables. All of this can be found at Paradis, in Montrose, California.
Paradis is a gourmet ice cream parlour that offers flavors ranging from classic vanilla to seasonal flavors like eggnog and pumpkin pie. Everytime I go to Paradis, I find a new favorite flavor. Recently, I discovered the best Paradis flavors yet: raspberry buttermilk. Tangy, tart, and slightly fruity, raspberry buttermilk blew my taste buds away and perfectly showed Paradis’ ability to create delicious and unique ice cream flavors. With delicious classic and quirky flavors, Paradis is a great choice when going out for ice cream.
Paradis also has other ice cream staples, including sundaes and shakes. Although I have never personally had any thing other than straight ice cream at Paradis, I am sure that anything made from their incredible ice cream is incredible.
The only drawbacks of Paradis are its prices and fulfillment of gourmet ice cream tropes. Two large scoops of any flavor of Paradis ice cream will set you back approximately $7. Compared with La Cañada staples like Penguins, Paradis is much more expensive. Additionally, while the ice cream is delicious, the spoons are not. Although it is a minor issue, it always bothers me how pretentious I feel eating ice cream off of the micro paddles that Paradis gives you to eat their ice cream with.
Overall, Paradis is a great ice cream parlor with diverse flavors that are all delicious. You can’t go wrong with anything at Paradis. Just be prepared to pay a little more for such tasty ice cream and make sure to bring your own spoon.
