Since Mr. Escobar left, our counseling “line-up” has felt the lack of a male counselor. Although there is little issue with our counselors’ ability to relate to students, we were more than happy to draft Mr. Greg Jackson as one of our own. He has taken responsibility of Ms. Dunn’s office and her letters, M-Pa.
Mr. Jackson is more than qualified for the job, considering that he has past experience as a counselor at both Westlake High School and Calabasas High School. However, the great reputation and practical location of La Cañada High School made our school the ideal choice for him.
When asked about his hobbies, Mr. Jackson replied, “Sports: the Dodgers, the Lakers, and the Trojans.” His interest in sports revolves around popular SoCal teams, particularly around the LA area. As an alum of USC, Mr. Jackson is particularly supportive of the Trojans.
Growing up in Northridge, Mr. Jackson dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player. Although he did not grow up to become one, he said, “I love my current job. I wouldn’t want to do anything else. Even winning the lottery wouldn’t keep me from doing this.”
Mr. Jackson is a dedicated individual who loves his job and is always willing to give LCHS students a helping hand. If you ever feel like dropping into his office, you can bring along a double-double without pickles as a token of thanks for his support.
Our staff's creativity oozes onto the Features pages as we report on the cultural, the personal, and the life-changing.
