FX’s “American Horror Story” is back with Season 4: FreakShow! The notorious horror TV series returned October 8th. Freakshow is different from the previous three seasons: Murder House, Asylum, and the Coven in that the show goes back in time to 1952, and centers around the story of remaining Freak Shows in the United States .The same cast has returned for the fourth season: Award winning actress Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, and Denis O’Hare.
According to Inside TV, the first episode, “Monsters Among Us” which premiered on October 8th, set a record for the most watched TV show in history with 10 million total viewers. “Monsters Among Us” creeped many people out due to its new morbid, evil characters such as the Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch) and other “freaks” creating a wicked and twisted mood.
The first episode focused mainly on introducing the main characters and their history. It showed Elsa (Jessica Lange) recruiting members for her Freak Show and emphasized the freak’s history and backgrounds, not to mention a killer clown loose who is murdering kids in Jupiter, Florida.
Senior Haley Miller, a fan of the “American Horror Story” series, commented, “I especially love this new season because all the characters have a more unique aspect than all the seasons before (Except I hate the clown). But I’m so glad the same cast members returned for the fourth season. I think Freak Show will turn out to be very popular and possibly spookier.”
“American Horror Story: Freak Show,” which airs every Wednesday at 10PM, will build upon each character’s story and will highlight Elsa’s struggle to keep her Freak Show alive.
With Halloween coming up pretty soon, I suggest grabbing some your favorite snacks and a cozy blanket to watch the October 29th episode, “Edward Mordrake.” It will be sure to get you hyped for Halloween.
